Step by step
How to export perfumes and attars
India has a centuries-old attar tradition centred on Kannauj and a growing modern fragrance industry in Mumbai and other cities. France, the USA, Spain, the UAE and Singapore lead world perfume trade, with the UAE and Singapore also acting as re-export hubs. Demand comes from the Gulf's strong perfume culture, diaspora and religious use, and private-label fragrance for retailers. Openings are in genuine Kannauj attars, rose and keora water, oud-style blends for the Gulf and fragrance compounds for soap and cosmetic makers.
