Why it matters
If there is a dispute about quality, delay or payment, the PO and your acceptance are what everyone will read first — including ECGC if you claim.
What goes on it
- Buyer and seller details, PO number and date
- Product, specification, quantity, packing, labelling
- Price, Incoterm, payment terms
- Delivery date, inspection, penalty and dispute clauses
Avoid these mistakes
- Match it line by line with your proforma. Reply in writing on anything that differs.
- Check that the company on the PO is real — trade licence, website, phone, and ideally an ECGC buyer check.
