Export and import calculators
Four tools that run in your browser: export price, freight and container fit, best route, and landed import cost. Your numbers are not sent anywhere.
Export price: from factory to the buyer’s port
Enter your own costs for one shipment. The calculator adds them up to EXW, FOB and CIF, then shows the price per unit in the buyer’s currency.
- EXW (at your gate)USD 1.45per unit · ₹1,23,000 shipment
- FOB (loaded on board at Indian port)USD 1.76per unit · ₹1,50,000 shipment
- CIF (at buyer’s port, insured)USD 2.48per unit · ₹2,11,055 shipment
Arithmetic only — not a quotation. GST is not added: exports under LUT are zero-rated. Export incentives (RoDTEP, drawback) are not included; check the scheme pages.
Freight calculator
Enter your carton size and weight and your forwarder’s quote — see how many containers you need and what freight adds to each unit. We do not quote rates: the rate comes from your quote.
- Total volume
- 48.00 CBM
- Total weight
- 10,000 kg
- Cartons per container
- 225
- Containers needed
- 3
- Total freight
- US$ 3,600 · ₹3,09,600
- Freight per unit
- US$ 0.300 · ₹25.80
Arithmetic only. Container inside sizes are ISO standard; payloads are the figures carriers usually quote — confirm with your line. Pallets reduce the space. Air: volumetric weight = L×W×H (cm) ÷ 6000.
Best route
Pick your state, the buyer’s country and the kind of goods — see the route most exporters use. Confirm time and freight with your forwarder.
- RoadYour unit (Uttar Pradesh)
Stuff the container at your unit under self-sealing, or take the goods to a CFS/ICD.
- ICDICD Dadri
Customs is cleared inland here; the container goes to the port by rail — no customs queue at the port.
- Sea portMundra Port
The west coast has the most direct services to the Gulf, Europe, Africa and the Americas.
- Arrival portUnited Arab Emirates — Jebel Ali (Dubai)
Ask your forwarder for transit time and any transhipment; a direct service costs more but is faster.
Landed cost of an import
Take the duty rates for your HS code from the CBIC customs tariff and enter them here. The calculator follows the order customs uses: assessable value → basic duty → social welfare surcharge → IGST.
- Assessable value
- ₹8,60,000
- Basic customs duty
- ₹86,000
- Social welfare surcharge
- ₹8,600
- IGST
- ₹1,71,828
- Total duty and tax
- ₹2,66,428
- Clearing, port and transport to your door
- ₹25,000
- Landed cost at your door
- ₹11,51,428
- IGST you can usually claim back as input tax credit
- ₹1,71,828
Arithmetic only — not a duty assessment. The bill of entry on ICEGATE is final. Check exemptions and FTA rates in the tariff notification.
