Step by step
How to export leather garments and gloves
India is a long-standing supplier of leather jackets and of work and fashion gloves, made mainly in Chennai, Kolkata, Kanpur and Delhi NCR. China, Pakistan and Turkey are strong competitors in garments, and Pakistan and China in gloves. Demand comes from European and US fashion brands and from safety-equipment distributors who buy work gloves in large volumes. Buyers expect chemical testing and social audits, and protective gloves sold in Europe must carry CE marking. Openings are in mid-price fashion jackets, motorcycle gear and certified work gloves.
