Why it matters
The EU, the US, Gulf countries and others will not let animal-origin and many processed foods in without the right certificate from an approved unit.
What goes on it
- Approved establishment number of the processing unit
- Product, batch, quantity, production dates
- Statements the importing country requires (residues, hygiene)
- Official seal and signature
Avoid these mistakes
- For many markets the factory itself must first be approved and listed — this takes time, so start before you take an order.
- Check the exact certificate model on the EIC site for your product and country.
